The fact that Karlie Kloss is only 15 boggles my mind. Seriously, she can't even drive yet and she's doing editorials for Vogue. I guess her youth is kinda obvious considering her lanky physique. Can't wait to see how beautiful she'll become as she matures...

I found these vintage Levi's at a thrift store and cut them off for shorts. Not bad at all for $3, and more budget friendly than the $48 version at urban (you can buy the same pair at the Levi's website for $29). I'm not a big fan of the pockets hanging out, but I'm not sure that I'm ready to cut them off and risk the chance of forgetting that they're not functional... Any opinions? Pockets or no?

I've been eyeing this Alloy vintage faux fur coat for a few months now. I feel like I'm up for the challenge of incorporating it into my wardrobe, but it's just so hard for me to spend money on a winter coat when it's 90 degrees out. I'd sorta forgotten about it until I stumbled upon this Topshop photo from their fall/winter preview and immediately scanned the Alloy website to check the clearance section. For $19.99? Marked down from $89.99??? Damn, why not. I signed up for their e-mail newsletters and received a free shipping discount code, which saved me an additional $6. I'm not exactly an Alloy fan, and I'm not sure how I discovered this coat, but I'm quite excited to get it. Even if I can't use it until fall...

Yep, it's finally that time of year. I bought a month's worth of sunscreen today (spf 70, didn't even know it went that high), and I'm ready to hit the pool, lake, beach, etc. I also dug out my summertime jewelry, which includes every nautical pendant from my Remedy Jewelry store. And during this rush of warm weather inspiration I made a little collage of the pieces. Each necklace is less than $30 and shipping is free. Beat that.
Mary Kate loves her Balenciaga gladiator wedges, but I mean, seriously, what normal girl can afford to drop that kind of cash on a pair of shoes? Here are a couple of completely affordable options: Nine West "Heech" and Jeffery Campbell "Cali". I prefer the look of the Nine West version, but the heel on the Jeffery Campbell is only 2", which means it would be a LOT more comfortable (obviously).
Went to see very witty Ingrid Michaelson play monday night. Live music, sushi, and vodka typically make a fantastic combination. However, when you add a few additional factors such as the 95 degree heat, limited circulation due to 3 hours of standing in the same spot, and high sodium levels (from the sushi), the result is cankles. Yes, cankles. Not pretty at all, but worth every minute because Ingrid is an excellent singer/songwriter/musician. Sort of a Lisa Loeb V 2.0. If you haven't heard her, you should listen here. Her song, Keep Breathing, was playing during the last few minutes of the season 3 finale of Grey's Anatomy (when Christina went home after her almost wedding to find that Burke had left). Okay, enough of my rambling, here's the outfit breakdown:

Went to my daughter's ballet recital and then out for dinner. It was a family-oriented Saturday night, but quite adorable. I was so busy prepping my little dancer that I completely forgot jewelry. Gosh, I sound like such a mom, but still FAR from the matching velour sweatsuit stage.

Yeah, it's pretty safe to say that I'm obsessed with jumpsuits at the moment. I like them because they're easy, but still different enough that they're not a typical "uniform" - like jeans & a dressy shirt or a summery dress. I really like the burnt orange shade of this one. Too bad I refuse to pay the UK exchange rate and international shipping fees. Otherwise, I'd be a topshop addict.
