boots & shorts

I want to wear cut off shorts with boots. Yeah, I know, I don't have kate's legs, but this is hypothetical (for the most part, anyway, I still may give it a go). If I could pull off those itty bitty shorts, I'd rock them this spring with any of the above boots.

1) Jeffrey Campbell Zola Boot, $195. 2) C2 Leather Bootie, $150. 3) Minnetonka Feather Boot, $88.

not in the shoe budget

Wish I had a few extra bucks to buy some shoes. I'd pick one of these:

1) ASOS Leather Heavy Gladiators 2) Nine West "Heech" 3) Pura Lopez 4) Dolce Vita Gladiator Heel 5) Guess Endora Sandal 6) Charlotte Ronson Dani Sandal

Since the ASOS pair is sold out, I think my top pick would be the Charlotte Ronson sandals. The platform is so high, which equals happy comfy feet. Yeah, I did the math: a 4" heel with a 1.5" platform = a 2.5" heel = comfort. But $187, jeez. Maybe they'll go on sale in a few months.

exposed zippers

Exposed zippers everywhere. Anyone have any strong feelings either way on this one? I kinda don't mind it on a dress or skirt. Adds a bit of an edge.

wilde green

I'm not a huge makeup enthusiast, so I'm surprised at how intrigued I am by this pic of Olivia Wilde in the April issue of InStyle. I love the green shimmery eye color! Yes, I'm aware that green is not the ideal shade for my green eyes, blah, blah. However, it's so subtle and springy... I just can't resist. But FYI, I'm a (mostly) all natural cosmetics/skin care advocate, so I immediately began a search for a counterpart to the InStyle recommended eye shadows. What I found and purchased and LOVE is Everyday Minerals eye color in pressed olive and cypress. Pressed olive (left) is a very translucent light green shimmer, and cypress (right) is a darker neutral green pearl. And the best part is that they are only $2.50 each and 100% natural. I ordered them on a monday and had them by the weekend.

hello yellow

For me, bright colors are sometimes perplexing. Neutrals are just easier - they blend well and seem less like my college spring break days. However, a few exceptions do occur. I'm loving the splash of yellow popping up this spring, especially when paired with my ole trusty neutrals. Here are a few of my favorites:

1) Melie Bianco Ring Clutch, $59, www.shopbareaccessories.com. 2) F21 Piper Polka Dot Top, $15, www.forever21.com. 3) Kenneth Cole Reaction Wedge, $79, www.piperlime.com. 4) Hand Embroidered Scarf, $17.50, www.shopbareaccessories.com. 5) Patent Slides, $15, www.oldnavy.com 6) Twist Trim Ra Ra Dress, www.topshop.com. 7) Pique Dog Polo (i couldn't resist!), $8, www.oldnavy.com.

here's a blast

Okay, of all the fads from the past, I never thought I'd see (or wanted to see) jelly shoes again. Seriously. I used to wear the same pair until I outgrew them, then would practically liquify them with the hair dryer to stretch them to fit again. Ha! I may buy some for my daughter, but none for me this round.

1) Old Navy, $13. 2) Betsey Johnson, $64. 3) Marc by Marc Jacobs, $80 4) Mia, $35.
